Childhood

Learners ages 6 to 12 belong to our Discovery Classes.

Our child-centered philosophy, established in our early childhood classes, provides a valuable foundation for students as they transition to Discovery Class 1 and beyond. By focusing on foundational skills and incorporating an innovation lab, we create a stimulating and engaging learning environment.

We prioritize the development of foundational skills such as literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Students create portfolios of their work to document and reflect on their learning with our Learning Coaches, tracking progress and setting goals.

In our Discovery Classes, we extend project-based learning to delve deeper into topics of interest and integrate subjects for holistic learning. We guide inquiry-based learning, where students explore topics through exploration and questioning, allowing for students to delve into areas of interest through long-term projects involving research, experimentation, and documentation.

Our Childhood Program is designed to nurture well-rounded children.

Community engagement is a key component of our approach.

We also promote cultural competence and understanding of different perspectives.

Leadership opportunities are abound in our Discovery Classes.

We prioritize cognitive development by fostering strong foundational academic skills and knowledge. At the same time, we emphasize social-emotional growth and character development.

Through hands-on activities and real-world experiences, we encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. These early years are crucial for laying the groundwork for a child's academic and personal success. We foster positive traits like honesty, kindness, and responsibility.

Our Childhood Philosophy

To enrich our curriculum, we organize field trips, invite guest speakers, and collaborate with local organizations. Students also participate in classroom jobs, collaborative projects, conflict resolution training, cross-age mentoring, and student councils.

By combining a strong academic foundation with these enriching experiences, we create a dynamic learning environment that prepares our students for future success.
